PurdyLucey are named Winner of the Irish Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year Award at The fifteenth annual EMEA Managing IP Awards in London.

Now in its fifteenth year, the Managing IP Awards are firmly established in the legal calendar with very strong attendance from across Europe, Middle East and Africa and recognises remarkable achievements and developments in the past 12 months. The Managing IP awards programme is the most comprehensive and widely respected IP law firm awards event in the world and covers a broad range of IP practice areas and more than 30 jurisdictions

Awards were presented to firms, individuals and companies behind the most innovative and challenging intellectual property work of the past year, as well as those driving the international market.

Each year research analysts obtain information from thousands of firms, IP practitioners and their clients through interviews, email and online surveys.

Before compiling the shortlists, researchers evaluated the work data supplied by firms and, where applicable, reviewed publicly available information such as court and IP office records. They focused on work done or concluded in 2019, particularly looking for case studies that were of great significance to clients and/or IP law and practice.

The research for the IP STARS rankings and the Managing IP awards is rigorous and impartial and are also based on information obtained during the research for the 2019 edition of IP STARS of which both Barry Purdy and Michael Lucey were cited as leaders in their field.

Barry Purdy, founding director of PurdyLucey admits “this award is a wonderful recognition of the work carried out by the whole team in PurdyLucey, who count some of Ireland’s most innovative companies among their clients and a wonderful way to round off their 10th anniversary in business.  To be among recognised among an incredible roster of IP Colleagues from the EMEA region is an honour and a privilege”
